Blade length : 61.5 cm. by Dr. Kanzan in summer 1973.
(We divide 4 sections for each sword as Saijyo saku, Jyojyo saku
Jyo saku and regular saku)
This Awataguchi Ikkanshi Tadatsun belongs to Saijyo saku ranking.
The blade was polished by high ranking polisher.
Blade length : 61.5 cm or 24.21 inches.
Sori : 2.55 cm or 1.00 inches.
Mekugi : 3
Width at the hamachi : 3.53 cm or 1.38 inches.
Width at the Kissaki : 2.71 cm or 1.06 inches.
Kasane : 0.72 cm or 0.28 inches.
Era : Edo period (Genroku era)(1700 February).
Shape : The blade is wide and thisk with deep sori and long kissaki nice looking shape.
On the Jigane, a doragon and Dokko Ken are engraved deep horimono.
Jitetsu :Koitame hada well grsined with jinie attach beautiful Oosaka texture.
Hamon : Niedeki deep nioikuchi gunone midare and Doranba hamon and sunagashi, kinsuji work in Hamon.
Special feature : 2nd generation Tadatsuna is a son of the first generation Tadatsuna.
He succeeded first generation and named Ikkanshi Tadatsuna.
First atage his subject is as sama as first generation Tadatsuna like Ashinaga Cyoji midare with sunagashi a lot. But At genroku era, he made very active Gunome midare and wavy doranba hamon.
Sometimes he engraved dragon on the Ji and high reputation from rich high ranked Marchant and Daimyo.
His Horimono is said that the highest reputation at Edo period.
So even right now many sword collectors hope to buy this Ikkanshi Tadatsuna hori dosaku(sword and engraving both Tadatsuna)
His Horimono is special feature that the eye brush and deep horimono.
This sword is marvelous wonderful Horimono and Jigane and also wavy do-ranba hamon.

1701 Feb At Edo castle Matsu no rouka, Akaho domein Lord Asano Naganori tried to kill Kira kouzuke nosuke but failed.
1702 December 47Ronin of Akaho Daimyo attacked Kira hause and killed him but next year, These ronin and Ooishi Yoshio were Seppuku.
